Georgia hung seventy on Western Kentucky in brand-new white uniforms, and the head man's first instinct was to threaten the laundry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kirby Smart's football team scored seventy points Saturday, won by fifty, and when somebody asked afterward whether Georgia would ever again wear the all-white uniforms they debuted for the occasion, the coach gave the most Georgia answer of the young season. 'If we play like we did in the second half, hell no,' he said, as Saturday Down South reported. Seventy to twenty over Western Kentucky, first all-white home uniforms in school history, and the man is threatening to take away the laundry.<\/p>\n

Understand what actually happened in Athens. Ninety-three thousand and thirty-three people sat in the rain and watched Georgia lead 49 to 6 at halftime and outgain Western Kentucky 493 yards to 225. In most counties that is called a fine Saturday. In Kirby Smart's county it is called evidence. He stood at the podium and testified that his team is not where it needs to be with SEC play looming, which is a little like winning the church raffle and filing a complaint about the ticket stubs.<\/p>\n

The SEC play in question arrives Saturday at noon in Fayetteville, on ABC, and the wise men in the desert have already ruled. FanDuel opened Georgia a 24-and-a-half-point road favorite at Arkansas \u2014 the number wanders from seventeen and a half to twenty-four and a half depending on the book \u2014 and 247Sports reports roughly 96 percent of the early money is riding on the Bulldogs to cover. Smart allowed Monday that his defensive front has played hard through two games but hasn't met a real measuring stick yet. Arkansas is 1 and 1, and Georgia leads the series 12 to 4, so the stick may have to wait.<\/p>\n

The worry list is short but real. Freshman safety Tyriq Green hurt his right leg with a minute and four seconds left Saturday, when Bo Walker came down on him at the end of a kickoff return, and Smart told reporters Monday, 'We're finding more and more out on him. We'll see what the deal is with him as the week goes on, if he's going to play or not.' Receiver Thomas Blackshear, meanwhile, missed the Western Kentucky game altogether with a wrist injury. Neither report will move that spread an inch, but both will move Smart's mood.<\/p>\n

And if you wonder why a man frets over a second half nobody else noticed, look west. Texas trailed top-ranked Ohio State by twenty points in the fourth quarter Saturday and won it, 24 to 23 \u2014 the first time in 195 games, going back to 2004, that the AP No. 1 lost after leading by twenty in the fourth, per the wire reporting. Texas is your new No. 1 and Ohio State fell to sixth. Somewhere in Athens, Kirby Smart read that and nodded. There is no such thing as enough points. He has been saying so since Saturday.<\/p>\n
