Aerosmith Reunites Tomorrow, Cheap Trick Pulls Its Valdosta Date, and a Big Friday for Reissues

Written by on October 28, 2026

Your midweek roundup of the rock and Americana news that matters to south Georgia listeners, from the Hollywood Bowl to Wild Adventures.

Good morning from Pretoria Fields Radio. The big one this week comes out of Los Angeles, where Aerosmith's classic lineup takes the Hollywood Bowl stage tomorrow night, October 29, with a second show on November 1. Rehearsal photos confirmed what fans had been hoping for: founding drummer Joey Kramer is back behind the kit for the first time since February 2020. The two nights are billed as California, Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends, with guests including The Black Crowes, Heart, Run-DMC, Billy Idol, Sammy Hagar, Tom Morello, and Slash and Duff McKagan from Guns N' Roses. No further shows have been confirmed, so for now this is two nights only.

Closer to home, there's disappointing news for anyone who grabbed tickets for Cheap Trick at Wild Adventures in Valdosta next April. Venues across the Southeast, including the Valdosta park, a Cherokee, North Carolina casino, and two Florida stops, have announced that the band is pulling its 2027 dates to take an unspecified break from the road. The band itself hasn't issued a statement, and the word is coming through its booking agency. The remaining 2026 shows on the All Washed Up tour are still on through November 22 in Detroit.

Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, announced a ten-night residency at New York's Beacon Theatre running March 16 through April 3, 2027. The fan club presale opens today, with the general on-sale Friday morning at 10 a.m. Eastern. The band also has a three-night Red Rocks run set for the end of July.

Friday is a strong release day for classic rock collectors. Foreigner's Head Games gets a Super Deluxe Edition from Rhino with a fresh remix, outtakes, and a previously unreleased 1979 concert. The set also includes Trouble, an unreleased song from the sessions with a newly added Peter Frampton guitar solo. The same day brings a deluxe edition of The Who By Numbers, a 60th anniversary edition of the first Monkees album, and a 45th anniversary edition of Mötley Crüe's Too Fast for Love. On the country side, The Oak Ridge Boys release Buried Treasures, a covers collection produced by Anderson East with Dave Cobb as executive producer, featuring Bridge Over Troubled Water and Lean On Me. Kaitlin Butts also drops her fourth album, Hello, Honky Tonk. And if you missed it last week, Tony Iommi released From The Dark, his first solo album since 2005.

A few headlines from the wider classic rock world. Nirvana's Nevermind has reportedly passed AC/DC's Back in Black as the sixth best-selling album of all time, based on Chartmasters data combining sales and streaming. The Eagles have extended their Las Vegas Sphere run four times and added dates into early 2027, bringing the total to 74 shows. Fleetwood Mac fans can mark January 29, when the documentary The Chain premieres on Apple TV ahead of the 50th anniversary of Rumours on February 4.

And a note on the medium you're listening to right now. A new Nielsen report says radio still reaches 92 percent of American adults, with AM/FM leading the way in the car. Meanwhile, the National Association of Broadcasters answered a call from FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez this week, saying it will keep working to protect local stations' First Amendment rights. We'll keep the music coming. Thanks for listening to Pretoria Fields Radio.
